Your Emergency Checklist

  1. Open the doors and windows to get rid of the gas
  2. Check to see if the gas has been left on unlit or if a pilot light has gone out. If so, turn the appliance off
  3. If this is not the case, there is probably a gas escape. Turn the gas supply off at the meter and phone Leon Stokes
  4. Don’t turn any electrical switches on or off (this includes doorbells). You can use the telephone to call the gas emergency service
  5. Don’t smoke, use matches or naked flames

  1. Turn off the stop cock; this is usually situated under the sink (but could be in the bathroom, hall or under the stairs)
  2. Telephone Leon Stokes immediately. We will need to know where the leak is.
  3. Could it affect the electrical system? If so, turn off the electrical installation at the main fuse box
